Helsing Junction Farm

Happy Summer!

We are currently accepting memberships for the 2010 season.
Members who join late will automatically be prorated by our operating system for the weeks of delivery that they miss.

Fruit shares are still available:
We offer an optional organic fruit share in conjunction with The Okanogan Producers Marketing Association (OPMA), a Co-op from Okanogan made up of 6 small organic farms. The Co-op was formed to give voice to these farms, which grow excellent quality fruit and heirloom varieties but can’t compete against the large scale farms in the area. Some of the types of fruit that will be included in the share are peaches, nectarines, cherries, plums, pluots, apricots, blueberries, raspberries, apples, pears, melons and grapes. The fruit share is designed to feed 2-3 people and contains 2-4 varieties of fruit per week. It costs $15 per week. To add a fruit share to your account, please e-mail us at helsingfarm@gmail.com or if you are signing up as a new member, you can select the fruit share from our menu. The fruit share will be prorated too.

We are located in Independence Valley, on the banks of the Chehalis River, about 20 miles south of Olympia Washington. For over 20 years, we’ve grown certified organic vegetables, fruits, flowers and herbs on our farm’s 50 fertile acres of bottomland soil. As one of the first CSA programs in Washington State, we have 18 years of experience behind us and offer the most variety of any CSA. Treat yourself to some of the best organic produce available, grown by women farmers who care about the environment and are passionate about good food!

What is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)?

CSA is simple yet revolutionary. As a CSA member, you join for the whole season and pay the farmer directly for your produce, which provides a secure retail market for the farm’s crops. This gives financial stability to the farm, which in turn enables the farm to commit to high quality produce at fair prices for you. With CSA programs there are no banks or government subsidies involved, just farmers and people working together to sustain small farms and provide quality food. Join a CSA program and become part of the growing movement striving to keep water and soil safe as well as maintain open spaces and farmland for the future. Help us put the culture back in agriculture!

We also partner with Provisions Mushroom Farm CSA, a local organic mushroom farm offering small and large shares of wild and cultivated gourmet mushrooms, which we deliver along with our CSA shares. Contact them directly for sign up info at: www.promushrooms.com
